Allie spent years quietly comparing the creative strength of the world around her to the worlds she read in modern fantasy and wondering why the fantasy is so weak. Too many decent worlds are polluted by powerful, perfect main characters who don't deserve the side characters' adoration. Too often, the wrong or stupid things characters did never had the consequences they needed - or those consequences were cheapened by magic. Enough with the fluff. Make-believe worlds should feed your wonder of this one; and imaginary characters should change you through their humanity.
